We drove 500 plus miles today to arrive at Double J Campground four miles south of Springfield IL. Along the way, we pulled off of I24 to drive into downtown Paducah, KY to look at the historic disstrict and the river front all of which is being restored. See the aattached photo of Gail on the riverfront with the Carver in the background. First night out we grilled steak, merlot wine and candlelight on a picnic table. Doesn't get any better than that. Tomorrow morning we will visit the Lincoln Presidential Liberty and Museum in Springfield and then on to the Dells in Wisconsin.

Thanks for including me, I love to be an "arm chair" traveler! Looks like you guys are having great weather - you picked a perfect time to go! Look forward to hearing about "The Dells" - on my list of places to visit. Will you have time for a stop in Kholar, WI - suppoise to be very nice. Look forward to your next entry!
